Listen to this article

(TORETSK, DONETSK REGION, UKRAINE) – Ukrainian border guard pilots from the “Phoenix” unit are engaged in operations against Russian forces on the Toretsk axis, targeting infantry, artillery and logistics routes.

According to the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine, Russian infantry units are attempting to advance under cover of trees, bushes, weather conditions and artillery fire. Ukrainian drone operators are detecting and striking these movements despite the concealment.

The Phoenix unit reported that it operates in all weather conditions, coordinating with infantry to destroy Russian artillery systems, disrupt supply routes and target armoured vehicles.

Ukrainian forces say Russian personnel are being located and engaged even when attempting to hide in difficult terrain. In one instance, troops were identified and struck while sheltering in water beneath a bridge.

The State Border Guard Service said its units carry out combat operations as part of Ukraine’s wider defence effort.
