(KYIV, UKRAINE) – Russian authorities have released what they claim is evidence of a Ukrainian drone attack, three days after alleging that Kyiv attempted an assassination on Russian dictator Vladimir Putin. Independent analysts and open source investigators, however, have questioned the authenticity of the materials provided, highlighting inconsistencies that suggest the images may involve Russian-manufactured drones rather than those operated by Ukraine.

The Russian government stated that 49 drones were intercepted over the city of Bryansk. Observers noted that while Russia may have engaged Ukrainian drones along its border, there is no clear evidence linking these incidents to an attempted attack on Putin’s residence in Novagarod. Analysts also pointed out that the images released by Moscow appear to show black painted Gerbera drones, which are produced in Russia and commonly used in domestic surveillance and attack operations.

Experts argued that the Russian presentation lacked the detail or credibility required to substantiate the claim. “The drones pictured are not those Ukraine has launched into Russian territory,” said one open source investigator. “It appears to be a case of staging rather than evidence of a targeted operation.”
