(NORTHERN SLOBOZHANSHCHYNA) – Ukrainian border guards operating on the Northern Slobozhanshchyna front have intercepted and destroyed a Russian Shahed loitering munition in a high intensity engagement. The State Border Guard Service of Ukraine confirmed that the downed aircraft impacted approximately 30 metres from the position of the mobile fire group tasked with its interception.

The proximity of the explosion resulted in a significant shockwave that physically ejected one service member from the unit’s vehicle. According to unit reports and video footage of the aftermath, the soldier, identified as Andriy, was thrown from the truck but did not sustain life threatening injuries. In the video transcript, comrades confirmed the distance of the impact, noting that the munition fell “30 metres from us,” and expressed relief that the team remained intact.

Despite the violence of the blast, all personnel involved in the operation survived and the team remains operational. The incident underscores the narrow margins of safety for mobile units engaging low flying Russian ordnance at close range.
