(JUBA) – Central Equatoria State Governor Emmanuel Adil Anthony officially inaugurated the new headquarters of the Ministry of Animal Resources, Fisheries, and Tourism, alongside a fully equipped veterinary clinic, in Juba on Wednesday, January 14, 2026. The event highlights the state’s commitment to strengthening fisheries, livestock, and tourism, critical sectors for local economic growth.

Governor Adil said the new facilities would provide a productive working environment, support the development of the fisheries sector, improve veterinary services, and enhance the livelihoods of farmers, pastoralists, and fishing communities. He urged other state ministers and government commissions with ongoing construction projects to focus on completing their initiatives, noting that tangible infrastructure and service delivery are essential for economic development.

“The fisheries sector is vital for food security and income generation across Central Equatoria,” Governor Adil said. “With this new headquarters and veterinary clinic, we are creating the structures needed to support fish farmers, livestock owners, and tourism operators. Our goal is to turn projects into real benefits for communities.”

State Minister of Animal Resources, Fisheries, and Tourism, Alex Lotiyu Elia, said the new building represents more than office space. It is a demonstration of the state government’s commitment to improving infrastructure and expanding access to essential services for communities involved in fisheries, agriculture, and tourism.

The ministry headquarters includes office spaces, a meeting hall, and a fully equipped veterinary clinic. The project has been implemented through a public-private partnership since 2023. Governor Adil highlighted the importance of supporting initiatives that bring services closer to people, improve regulatory oversight, and enhance the business environment for fisheries and livestock.

Senior government officials, community leaders, and representatives from cultural and entertainment groups attended the inauguration, witnessing a key milestone in Central Equatoria’s drive to strengthen its fisheries sector, improve animal health services, and promote sustainable economic development.
