(JUBA) – The Bank of South Sudan (BoSS) has announced a public tender inviting eligible commercial banks to participate in a Term Deposit Facility Auction worth 20 billion South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), equivalent to approximately 4.35 million US Dollars at the official exchange rate of 4,600 SSP per USD as of July 2025.
The auction is scheduled for Thursday, 31 July 2025, and will settle on the same day. Participating banks will deposit funds with the central bank for fixed periods and receive both the principal and interest at the end of the agreed term. The facility aims to help manage liquidity in the banking sector and provide a stable investment vehicle for licensed banks.
The deposit auction will be offered in three tiers based on the tenor, as shown in the table below:

Bidding will be open between 9:00 and 10:00 AM on the auction day and must be submitted via email or through the Refinitiv trading platform. Evaluation of bids will take place between 10:00 and 11:00 AM.
According to the terms, all interest rates offered by participating banks must remain below the Central Bank Rate, currently capped at 13 percent. In the event of early withdrawal, a 25 percent penalty will be imposed on the accrued interest.
The tender is strictly open to banks licensed in South Sudan. Those without access to the Refinitiv platform are required to authenticate their bid documents and submit them as a single scanned PDF file.
