(JUBA) – A vehicle carrying Bor Community Secretary General, Mayom Ateny, came under attack on Wednesday afternoon in the Mogiri/Jabor area along the Juba-Bor road.
According to reports, Mayom and other passengers in the vehicle escaped unharmed. However, his brother, Madit Ateny Wai, sustained gunshot wounds after being struck by three bullets. He was rushed to Nile King Specialist Hospital in Juba for urgent medical treatment.
The Juba-Bor road has been the scene of periodic violence, creating ongoing safety concerns for travellers in the region. Residents and community members have urged authorities to increase vigilance and improve security measures along the route to prevent further incidents.
