(JUBA) – South Sudan continues to deepen its international partnerships as the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (MFA&IC) hosted senior diplomats and international officials in early December 2025. The engagements focused on expanding bilateral relations, development cooperation, and mutual interests.
On 8 December, the Honorable Ambassador Monday Semaya K. Kumba, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, received H.E. Gregory Bledjian, Ambassador-designate of the Federal Republic of Germany to South Sudan. Both sides discussed issues of mutual interest and reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and enhancing cooperation between the two countries.
Earlier the same day, Minister Kumba welcomed Mrs. Lydia Zigamo, UNFPA Regional Director for East and Southern Africa, for a courtesy visit. The Minister acknowledged UNFPA’s continued support and emphasised South Sudan’s commitment to furthering cooperation in areas such as health, population development, and women’s empowerment. Mrs. Zigamo expressed her appreciation for the warm reception and reaffirmed her organisation’s interest in supporting South Sudan’s development goals.
On 5 December, the Minister also received Mrs. Anna Cavell, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Denmark to South Sudan. During the visit, Mrs. Cavell presented her credentials, and Minister Kumba welcomed her, highlighting the strong and longstanding partnership between South Sudan and Denmark. Both sides agreed on the importance of continued collaboration across economic, social, and diplomatic areas of mutual interest.
According to the Foreign Affairs Ministry, these meetings reflect South Sudan’s ongoing focus on strengthening its international relations, attracting development support, and enhancing cooperation with foreign partners and international organisations.
