(KYIV) – The Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) of Ukraine conducted a series of high-precision strikes across the temporarily occupied territories of the Donetsk, Luhansk, and Kherson regions on the night of 8 March. The operation resulted in the destruction of several high-value Russian military assets, including a Tor surface-to-air missile system and an R-330Zh Zhitel electronic warfare complex.
The Zhitel system had reportedly been functioning as a vital detection and fire correction component for the Russian military grouping “Vostok.” In addition to these systems, Ukrainian drone pilots successfully targeted enemy unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) storage facilities, fuel depots, and logistics sites. The mission was executed by operators from the 1st Separate SBS Centre and the 9th “Kairos” Battalion of the 414th Separate Unmanned Strike Aviation Systems Brigade, popularly known as the “Birds of Madyar.”
The primary weapon utilised in the overnight raids was the Ukrainian manufactured FP-2 middle strike drone. This platform is equipped with a substantial warhead weighing between 60 kilograms and 100 kilograms. Military analysts note that the FP-2 has a production cost of approximately $55,000, which is roughly equivalent to 2,390,635 Ukrainian Hryvnia at current market rates.
Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, the commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces, confirmed that the strikes are part of a continuous effort to dismantle the air defence umbrella of the Russian dictator. Progress of these operations is tracked via the official SBS online dashboard known as “Pidrahuika.” The sustained nature of these missions indicates a strategic focus on degrading Russian command and logistics capabilities ahead of further tactical movements.
