(JUBA) – The Bank of South Sudan has launched a new capacity building programme designed to strengthen organisational culture and improve professional behaviour across the institution. The training began in Juba on 20 November and will continue until the first week of December.
The programme has been organised by the Directorate of Human Resource and Administration and is operating under the theme “Building Our Desired Culture Together: One Bank, One Family.” The training targets all staff, including unclassified and classified employees as well as Deputy Directors. Officials say the aim is to ensure that every department understands the role of workplace values in building a more effective central bank.
Speaking during the launch, the Director of Human Resource, Catherine Kapuki Patrick, said the programme is intended to build a shared mindset and strengthen professional values across the Bank of South Sudan. She explained that a strong internal culture is essential as the central bank continues to expand its responsibilities within the country’s changing economic environment.
She encouraged staff to take part actively in the sessions and to work closely with colleagues to support the change process. She said professionalism, accountability, teamwork and excellence should guide the day to day operations of the institution. According to her, meaningful change requires both a shift in attitude and consistent practice at all levels of the central bank.
The training is expected to support ongoing internal reforms aimed at improving service delivery, strengthening management systems and supporting long term capacity of South Sudan’s financial sector.
