(JUBA) – The Central Equatoria State SPLM Parliamentary Caucus in the Transitional National Legislative Assembly met with SPLM Secretary General, Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, at his office in Juba on Monday 18 August 2025. The meeting addressed key issues affecting the state, including insecurity, land disputes, and the strengthening of SPLM structures.

Hon. Dusman Joice James, Chairperson of the SPLM Parliamentary Caucus, told the media that members of parliament presented concerns on security challenges, land grabbing, and the need to promote unity among the people of Central Equatoria. She said the caucus is also planning a consultative meeting that will bring together veterans, politicians, and community elders ahead of the national elections.

“As members of the national parliament, we have raised critical issues affecting our state, such as insecurity, land grabbing, and the need for unity among the sons and daughters of Central Equatoria,” Hon. Dusman said. “We are working to ensure that these challenges are addressed in a consultative and inclusive manner before the elections.”

She further highlighted the role of SPLM cadres in mobilizing support at the community level. She stressed that party members must fully support the leadership to ensure the SPLM’s vision and programmes are implemented across all counties of the state.
