(JUBA) – The newly appointed Governor of Western Equatoria State, H.E. James Altaib Jazz, visited the SPLM Secretary General, Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, at the party’s office in Juba on Monday 18 August 2025. The visit served as an introduction to SPLM leadership ahead of his swearing-in as the party’s chairperson in Western Equatoria.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the Governor’s assumption of office, preparations for his travel to Western Equatoria, and the role of SPLM structures in supporting his new assignment. Governor Altaib Jazz expressed his gratitude to the party leadership and reaffirmed his commitment to strengthening SPLM’s presence and activities in the state.
“I came to report to the Secretary General that the people of Western Equatoria are extremely happy with this decision, and they want to celebrate it widely,” said Governor Altaib Jazz.
He also requested that the SPLM Secretariat send a delegation to accompany him to the state to join the celebrations marking what he described as a significant change for the party in the region.
