(BOMA, BADINGILO) – African Parks hosted a delegation of four European ambassadors over the weekend at Boma and Badingilo National Parks in South Sudan. The ambassadors represented the European Union, France, the Netherlands, and Germany.
The visit highlighted ongoing conservation and eco-tourism initiatives and showcased the commitment of African Parks teams in protecting South Sudan’s unique landscapes for future generations. The ambassadors were able to meet with local officials and learn about the impact of conservation efforts on communities living near the parks.
During the visit, the delegation shared a meal with Vertet County Commissioner, who praised African Parks for supporting local development while protecting wildlife and natural habitats. Officials emphasised that partnerships between international donors, governments, and local communities are critical to sustaining South Sudan’s environmental and tourism sectors.
African Parks said the engagement reinforced their strategy to strengthen eco-tourism, wildlife protection, and community collaboration. The organisation continues to work closely with South Sudan authorities to preserve the country’s natural heritage and promote sustainable economic opportunities through conservation.
