(Juba) – Senior Sudan People’s Liberation Movement (SPLM) figure and former Central Equatoria State Governor, Gen. Augustino Jadalla Kamilo Wani, visited the newly appointed SPLM Secretary General, Prof. Paul Logale Jumi, on Saturday to offer his congratulations and support following Logale’s recent elevation to the party’s top administrative post.

The meeting took place at Prof. Logale’s residence in Juba and comes just days after the party announced its latest internal appointments, which are seen as part of a broader effort to strengthen leadership structures and enhance the party’s preparedness for key national and political milestones in the near future.

During the visit, Gen. Jadalla praised Prof. Logale’s commitment to the SPLM over the years, noting that his experience and vision come at a critical time for both the party and South Sudan. He described Logale’s appointment as an opportunity to inject fresh energy into the SPLM’s work of national unity, peacebuilding, and service delivery.

“I came to show my support and appreciation for the appointment of Prof. Logale,” said Gen. Jadalla. “His leadership and vision are much needed at this critical juncture in the party’s history and in our nation’s path toward unity, peace, and development.”

Prof. Logale, who previously held several academic and political roles, expressed gratitude for the visit and stressed the need for collective efforts to strengthen the SPLM’s internal systems. He said the party must remain grounded in its founding principles while addressing the evolving needs of the people.

“I am truly honoured by Gen. Jadalla’s visit and humbled by his support. The SPLM is stronger when we stand together in service of our people,” Prof. Logale said. He added that he would focus on building unity and ensuring that the SPLM is well-positioned to lead South Sudan through its next phase of peace and development.
