(MAGWI COUNTY) – Global Aim, a national organisation, distributed essential farming tools to 500 registered farmers across three Bomas in Magwi Payam on Friday, 5 December 2025. The initiative is aimed at strengthening agricultural productivity and supporting year-round cultivation, particularly during the dry season.

Mr. Ochan David Justine, Agronomy Assistant at Global Aim, told Voice of Freedom that the programme focuses on farmers living along the river to ensure continuous cultivation during dry months. The distribution reached 250 farmers in Lobure Boma, 150 in Kilio Boma, and 100 in Central Boma. The lower number in Central Boma reflects previous aid from other organisations, including CARE.

Local leaders and farmers welcomed the support. Mr. Santino Owen, Acting Boma Chief of Lobure, said the tools will help farmers boost cultivation and encouraged Global Aim to continue providing assistance across Magwi County.

Ayoo Rose, a beneficiary from Kilio Boma, thanked Global Aim for filling a critical gap in the community’s daily livelihood. She also urged non-recipients to remain patient while waiting for future distributions.

Other residents requested additional tools for the next phase. Agnes Kasara highlighted the need for sickles to cut grass during dry season cultivation, while Martine Opio from Central Boma asked for slashers and axes to support vegetable farming. Mr. Opio encouraged local youth to use the tools to grow and sell produce as a source of income.

This distribution follows an earlier programme in September 2025, when Global Aim, with funding from the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), provided agricultural inputs to 2,000 beneficiaries across Magwi County.
