(JUBA) – The 7th edition of the Juba Auto Show was held on 16 August 2025 at Midan Rainbow, attracting more than 30 companies from South Sudan’s automotive and related industries. The annual event has become a regular fixture on Juba’s business and entertainment calendar and was accompanied by the launch of the proposed Juba Auto Center, a modern facility expected to support development and expand automotive services on the outskirts of Juba.
The event organised under the Corporate Business Circle featured car exhibitions, sales promotions, electric car displays, auctions and motorcycles. Visitors also took part in prize giveaways, including accessories from Sakaylt Car Accessories, fuel offers from Pacific Petrol Station, and fully paid stays at Daru Guest House Kajok. The occasion further marked the launch of the first edition of an auto magazine and the unveiling of the Juba Auto Show Rally Center.
The Deputy Governor of Central Equatoria State, Hon. Paulino Lokudu Obede, attended as the guest of honour. He described the Juba Auto Center project as a step forward for the city, highlighting its potential role in job creation, service provision and economic growth.
Over the years, the Juba Auto Show has grown in size and influence. When the second edition was staged in December 2022 at Bros Hotel in the Konyo Konyo suburb of Juba, only 24 companies participated, compared to 16 in the inaugural event a year earlier. The organisers said the main goal was to create opportunities for vehicle dealers and entrepreneurs to promote business networking.
Sponsors of the second edition included M-Gurush, Point Investment, Reality Home Technology, and Check-Ups Medical Center. Reality Home Technology emphasised the need for digital solutions in the automotive sector, encouraging businesses to adopt websites and use promotional videos to reach audiences beyond South Sudan.
In May 2024, the fifth edition of the show was launched by the Young South Sudanese Business Supporters. Founder Mandela Nelson Denis said the event aimed to provide small scale entrepreneurs with a platform to sell automotive related products, while also connecting car dealers with insurance providers and other service partners. He stressed the importance of teamwork and professionalism in ensuring that Juba Auto Show continues to build its reputation and contribute to South Sudan’s growing automotive sector.
The 7th edition builds on this history by attracting more exhibitors but also focusing on wider business networking, cultural performances, and international participation. The presence of companies representing global brands such as Toyota, Hyundai, and Etihad Auto Limited signalled increasing interest in South Sudan’s auto industry. Entertainment acts, including comedian Lawrence, added a light side to the otherwise business oriented event.
