(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan has reported significant progress in network expansion, digital services and stakeholder engagement following a series of major industry awards. The company said the recognition reflects growing confidence in its investment strategy and its role in supporting South Sudan’s digital economy.

Chief Executive Officer Mapula Bodibe received the Best Chief Executive Award at the Chamber Quality Awards 25. MTN South Sudan was also named Best Company Overall and Best Mobile Internet Provider. The company described these awards as a confirmation of its commitment to service quality and innovation.

Speaking during the awards, Ms Bodibe said the achievement was the result of cooperation with partners and customers.

“Each step the team has taken and every milestone we have reached in twenty twenty five, whether expanding our network, improving service quality, advancing mobile money or supporting digital inclusion, has been made possible through your support and cooperation,” she said.

At a stakeholder appreciation event in Juba, the Chief Executive recognised the role played by the private sector and financial institutions:

“Please allow me to acknowledge our partners, vendors and banking partners who support us in our daily operations.”

She added that MTN’s mobile money platform had played an important part in helping small businesses remain active.

“This has enabled many small businesses to stay connected. Even with the challenges in the country, entrepreneurs have been able to continue participating in the economy.”

Ms Bodibe said MTN is focused on maintaining strong standards in its service and social programmes. “We are committed to quality, to innovation and to delivering the best customer experience that South Sudan deserves,” she said.

She added that the company aims to expand opportunities beyond technology. “We support education, youth and women through our social initiatives. We want to make sure communities are able to access opportunity.”
