(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan is promoting the use of its Mobile Money service, My MoMo, as a practical option for users to move funds between their bank accounts and MoMo wallets. The company is encouraging customers to adopt the service as part of wider efforts to support digital payments and reduce reliance on physical cash transactions across the country.
The service allows users to pull or push money between their bank account and the MoMo wallet. This means customers can transfer funds to their wallet for purchasing and make payments or withdraw money from the wallet to their bank when needed. MTN describes the initiative as one that offers flexibility and convenience, especially for customers who want to conduct financial transactions without carrying cash.
To use the service, customers are instructed to dial *200*5# from an MTN line. The system enables sending, receiving, buying, paying and managing funds through the mobile handset.
MTN has partnered with several banks and financial institutions to support the service. The partnerships are intended to help widen access to digital finance services in South Sudan by linking traditional banking systems with mobile platforms.
