(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan has announced cash rewards to its MoMo Agents, Merchants, Freelancers, and EVD Resellers as part of its ongoing “Shukran Junubin Promo”, a nationwide appreciation campaign celebrating the company’s milestone of reaching four million customers.
The telecommunications company said each of the selected winners received 400,000 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP), equivalent to approximately 56 US dollars, based on the prevailing exchange rate of SSP 7,100 per US dollar as of November 2025. The initiative is part of MTN’s effort to recognise the contribution of its business partners and customers who helped the company achieve record growth in mobile money and airtime services across the country.
According to MTN South Sudan, the first round of the draw took place on Monday, 27 October 2025, and included winners from various parts of the country. Participants entered the draw by recharging a minimum of 1,000 SSP (about 0.14 US dollars), with double entries given to those who recharged using MTN’s MoMo (Mobile Money) platform. Customers could also dial *131# to check their draw entries and track their progress in the promotion.

MTN South Sudan described the campaign as part of its commitment to empower small entrepreneurs, especially MoMo agents and resellers, who play a key role in expanding access to mobile money services in both urban and rural areas. The firm said it hopes the incentive will inspire more engagement and business growth across the MTN network.
The second draw of the promotion is scheduled for 3 November 2025, with more winners expected to be announced weekly. The company has encouraged customers to continue participating by recharging regularly and using MTN MoMo for transactions.
A spokesperson for MTN South Sudan said the company’s growth to four million subscribers represents a major achievement in a competitive market and reflects growing confidence in its products and services.
“We are celebrating this milestone with the people of South Sudan who made it possible. Our customers and agents are the foundation of our success,” the spokesperson said.
MTN South Sudan has continued to expand its mobile money services since its launch, improving accessibility to digital payments, airtime purchases, and financial transfers. The company remains one of the leading private sector investors in the country’s telecommunications industry.
