Senior Presidential Envoy on Special Programs, Adut Salva Kiir Mayardit, has announced her commitment to prioritising services in key sectors such as education, health, tourism, and hospitality to strengthen the relationship between leadership and the general public.
Following her swearing-in ceremony at the State House on Friday, Envoy Adut highlighted the significance of these sectors in narrowing the gap between the government and the people.
In her address on State television SSBC, she expressed her understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable communities and outlined her plans to enhance services in education, health, tourism, and hospitality to facilitate better communication and engagement between the leadership and the citizens.
Envoy Adut also emphasised her dedication to working with respect, integrity, professionalism, and utmost sincerity in fulfilling her responsibilities.
During the ceremony, she reiterated her commitment to representing the interests of women, youth, the vulnerable, and marginalized groups, acknowledging the importance of listening to and considering diverse perspectives, even if critical.
She expressed her openness to feedback and advice from various networks and individuals, recognising the complexities involved in policy-making and decision-making processes.
Envoy Adut expressed her gratitude to those in attendance at the event and recognised the significance of their support and presence.
However, she stressed that true celebration will only come when tangible results are achieved, such as the opening of a 450-bed hospital or the establishment of new educational and healthcare facilities.
