(JUBA) – The South Sudan Revenue Authority has held its first Board meeting with the newly appointed Commissioner General, William Anyuon Kuol, in a session aimed at strengthening revenue management and improving institutional performance.

The meeting was chaired by the Board Chairperson, Stephen Dhieu Dau, who said the induction of the new Commissioner General marked a renewed commitment to close cooperation between the Board and senior management. He said this partnership will guide the authority towards better efficiency, clear systems, and stronger public service.

Dau said the Board will continue to provide full support through policy guidance, strategic direction, and institutional backing to ensure the authority delivers on its responsibilities. He added that effective leadership will be key as the authority seeks to improve daily operations, modernise revenue systems, and meet the expectations of citizens, businesses, and government bodies.

The induction programme covered SSRA’s governance structure, long term plans, financial outlook, and legal framework. It also introduced the Commissioner General to the different operational units, including Corporate Services, the Strategy Division, Legal Services, and the Board Committees.

Dau said the new appointment comes at a time when the authority is working to strengthen reforms. He noted that improved cooperation between policy makers and administrators will help the institution achieve better results.

He said the goal is to build a revenue body that serves the country in a responsible, open, and efficient manner.
