(JUBA) – The South Sudan Revenue Authority has reminded all businesses and individuals with tax obligations that the deadline for filing and paying October 2025 monthly tax returns is 15 November 2025. The notice applies to all registered taxpayers across the country, including companies, entrepreneurs, and employers.

The authority said that the reminder covers a number of tax categories. These include personal income tax withheld from salaries and wages, tax on rental properties, government contract payments, technical service fees, dividends, royalties, and winnings from gaming or lotteries.

Businesses that manufacture goods, operate hotels, bars and restaurants, financial service providers, travel and tour agencies, and telecommunication companies are also expected to file and make payments on time.

The statement further explained that any tax obligations not filed or paid from previous months should be settled immediately. This also includes business profit tax and personal income tax from sole proprietorships.

The Revenue Authority encouraged taxpayers to use designated commercial banks to make payments and to use the online e.Tax system to ensure that their tax registration and records are current.

The Commissioner for Domestic Tax Revenue, Chol Paul Kur, said businesses operating without a Tax Identification Number are doing so illegally. He noted that failure to register for a TIN is considered a criminal offence under section 113 and 114 of the Taxation Act of 2009 as amended. Businesses are therefore urged to complete their registration to operate legally in South Sudan.

The authority said improving tax compliance is an important part of supporting government services and national economic stability. It called on the public to meet tax responsibilities in order to strengthen development efforts.
