(JUBA) – MTN South Sudan has introduced new data bundle offers targeting heavy weekend internet users and customers looking for affordable daily browsing options.
According to the telecom giant’s online platforms, the initiative is part of the company’s broader strategy to improve digital access and strengthen customer loyalty in an increasingly competitive telecommunications market.
The newly launched “Weekend Bundle” allows subscribers to access 2GB of data between Friday and Monday at a price designed to appeal to young people, entertainment streamers, and social media users. Customers can activate the bundle by dialling *100*4#. The offer aims to position weekends as a time for uninterrupted connectivity, whether for entertainment, communication, or business use.
In addition to the weekend package, MTN has rolled out “MTN Hagi,” a daily data bundle designed for affordability. By dialling *100*0#, subscribers can purchase low cost data bundles with competitive rates tailored to budget conscious users. The company says the product is intended to make mobile internet more inclusive, especially for students and small business owners who rely on data services for learning, marketing, and communication.
MTN South Sudan has presented the campaign with relatable messaging, describing different “data personalities” such as the Netflix binge watcher, TikTok enthusiast, or the WhatsApp chat leader. The approach is aimed at making the bundles resonate with customers’ daily online habits while reinforcing MTN’s “Good Together” brand identity.
The new products come at a time when the demand for affordable internet services in South Sudan is growing rapidly. Businesses, students, and social media users are increasingly reliant on mobile connectivity. However, cost remains a major barrier. MTN South Sudan’s strategy appears to target this gap by offering flexible bundles that provide value while encouraging higher usage.
To illustrate affordability, the cost of a 2GB weekend bundle priced at 2,300 South Sudanese Pounds (SSP) translates to approximately 0.50 US dollars at the current exchange rate of $1 = 4,600 SSP (official rate, September 2025). This pricing places MTN among the providers actively lowering entry points for internet access in the country.
