(JUBA) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry has received a detailed briefing from the Orient Group on plans for South Sudan’s upcoming Agrifood and Business Exposure initiative. The briefing, held on 11 November 2025, focused on outlining the implementation roadmap, strategies for mobilising resources, and engaging international organisations and donors to secure funding for the project.
Hon Atong Kuol Manyang, Minister of Trade and Industry, welcomed the presentation and thanked the Orient Group for their commitment to the initiative. The group’s CEO confirmed that the budget for the trade fairs and exhibitions has been prepared, and the dates and locations for the events have been finalised. Invitation letters have also been distributed to targeted participants.
Acting Director General for Trade Fairs and Exhibitions, Mr Tor Samuel Tuir, commended the Orient Group for its efforts. He said he will serve as the Ministry’s focal point to coordinate closely with the group to ensure the project meets its budget and timeline requirements. He reinforced that the Ministry supervises all trade fairs, exhibitions, and business exposure events in South Sudan.
Minister Atong Kuol Manyang described the meeting as productive. She highlighted the Ministry’s role in promoting and facilitating trade and emphasised the importance of collaboration with trade partners. She added that she looks forward to presenting the upcoming Agrifood and Business Exposure Trade Fair and Exhibition, scheduled for January 2026, to H.E. the President.
