(JUBA) – The Ministry of Trade and Industry officially launched its new website on Friday, 31 October 2025, marking an important step in improving communication and accessibility between the government and the business community in South Sudan.

The launch ceremony held in Juba  was presided over by the Minister of Trade and Industry, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang. The event was attended by the Undersecretary, Ustaz Yel Luol, Director Generals from all directorates, and representatives from Target Media, the company that designed the website.

In her remarks, Hon. Atong Kuol Manyang praised the team behind the project for their dedication and hard work in bringing the initiative to completion. She said the new website reflects the Ministry’s commitment to digital transformation and improved service delivery in a rapidly changing global economy.

The Minister said the platform will serve as an essential tool for providing accurate and timely information to traders, investors, and the general public. She stressed that the website must be treated as a working service platform for the Ministry and not as a personal tool for leadership promotion. Hon. Atong urged all staff to ensure that updates are made regularly so that the site remains reliable and useful for the public.

The Undersecretary, Ustaz Yel Luol, commended Target Media for their professional work in developing the website. He cautioned the technical team to maintain consistency in managing the site, saying that lack of maintenance had caused many similar platforms to fail after their launch.

He emphasised that the new website should remain functional and accessible to support trade operations and to enhance investor confidence.

Speaking at the event, the Technical Advisor to the Ministry, Mr. Simon Nyang Anei, said the website would serve as a bridge between the government and private sector actors. He noted that the online platform provides a central point where traders, investors, and partners can easily access key information about trade regulations, investment policies, and business opportunities in South Sudan.

The Ministry believes that the launch of the website will help improve transparency, efficiency, and service delivery, while positioning South Sudan as a more accessible destination for business.

According to the Ministry, the website will also host resources such as trade statistics, policy updates, export procedures, and links to regional and international trade frameworks. This will enable traders and investors to make informed decisions and engage more effectively with the Ministry.

Trade Ministry officials said the move is part of the government’s broader effort to digitise public services and modernise administrative systems in line with its economic reform agenda.
