(KRASNODAR KRAI, RUSSIA) – Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces carried out a strike on a major oil refinery in southern Russia on 14 March, targeting infrastructure used to support the Russian military.
According to Ukrainian military sources, operators from the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces, working in coordination with other elements of Ukraine’s Defence Forces, struck the Afipsky Oil Refinery in Russia’s Krasnodar Krai region.
The Afipsky refinery is one of the largest oil processing facilities in southern Russia. Its design capacity is approximately 6.25 million tonnes of crude oil per year.
The facility produces petrol and diesel fuel, products that are used in part to support logistics operations for the Russian army.
Ukrainian officials said each DeepStrike operation is intended to target strategic infrastructure that enables the functioning of Russia’s military system.
They said the Unmanned Systems Forces are systematically striking such facilities in order to reduce Russia’s ability to conduct military operations against Ukraine.
The operation forms part of Ukraine’s broader campaign to disrupt supply chains and energy infrastructure supporting Russian military activities.
The information was released through the official Telegram channel of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces.
