(JUBA) – The Ministry of General Education and Instruction has officially released the results of the 2024 Certificate of Secondary Education (CSE) examinations after a lengthy delay that drew widespread concern from students, parents and schools across South Sudan.
The examinations, which were conducted between 2 and 11 December 2024, were written by 50,004 candidates across the country. Out of this number, 29,353 were male and 20,651 were female. The tests were administered in 535 academic schools, alongside specialised candidates from Juba Commercial Secondary School and Juba Technical Secondary School.
A total of 48,079 candidates eventually sat the exams, of whom 36,701 passed. This represents an overall pass rate of 76.3 percent. The Ministry acknowledged that 11,378 candidates failed, giving a national failure rate of 23.7 percent.
