(JUBA) – Aweil North County has officially confirmed its final 30 man football squad ahead of the upcoming Aweil Peace Tournament, scheduled to begin on Monday, 7 July 2025, at Buluk Playground in Juba.

The tournament is part of broader efforts to use sports as a vehicle for peace and youth engagement and will see participation from various counties, with Aweil North and Aweil South opening the matches.

The final squad announcement follows a delay in the tournament’s start, caused by a fixture clash with the ongoing Tonj Super League, which is being held at the same venue. The Tonj final match is expected to conclude on Sunday, clearing the way for the Aweil event.

Aweil North’s team, under the guidance of Head Coach Chol Nyok, features a mix of experienced players and young emerging talent. The squad has been organised into goalkeepers, defenders, midfielders and attackers, each group bringing notable names with playful nicknames inspired by global football stars.
