(UKRAINE) – Russian state television has aired a segment featuring Olga Skabeeva and RT chief Margarita Simonyan, offering predictions on the war in Ukraine and NATO’s role.

Simonyan questioned the protective value of international law, saying it is naive to expect it to shield weaker states. “We do everything in our interest, and act for our country and homeland, to the extent of our capabilities,” she said, adding that these abilities are limited.

She criticised NATO, questioning what the alliance has protected historically. “I cannot recall. Its relevance is unclear. The likelihood of NATO’s collapse may now be higher than ever. If it disappears, nothing would change,” Simonyan said.

The RT head also referenced the Epstein files, suggesting the West has long acted with impunity. She described the network of influence as audacious and alarming, though less surprising given prior knowledge.

Simonyan asserted that Ukraine is “heading to hell,” while claiming that Russia, with divine favour, is moving toward an inevitable and total victory. She said the outcome will depend on the limits of Russian strength, likening the struggle to climbing a mountain, requiring endurance, equipment, and health.

She added that very few nations can act independently, expressing pride that Russia is among them. Regarding Ukraine’s future, she suggested it may be dismembered or become a satellite of Europe, depending on American influence and potential political shifts in the US.

Simonyan concluded by highlighting that Russian law limits the fate of Western figures to life imprisonment, noting that Russia maintains a moratorium on the death penalty. She questioned past Western interventions, asking whether Russia had wanted to fight Ukraine or Georgia, and suggesting that previous wars were forced upon Russia against its will.
