(JUBA) – South Sudan Scout Association (SSSA) is preparing to elect its new leadership on Saturday 16 August 2025 in the capital, Juba. The election will select the Chairperson of the National Board of South Sudan Scouts and the Chief Commissioner.
Speaking at the SSSA General Assembly ahead of the vote, the Minister of Information and incumbent Chairperson, Michael Makuei Lueth, urged scouts to demonstrate leadership and set a positive example as the country approaches national elections. He assured the association of his continued support to help scouts achieve their goals.
The Minister of Education for Central Equatoria State, Cirisio Zachariah, also pledged his support to work with the national government to provide the necessary resources for scouts to carry out their mandate effectively. He cautioned members against engaging in politics or tribalism, stressing that unity and impartiality are essential for scouts to represent the country well.
