Suspected Missile Strike Targets Novorossiysk Naval Base

(NOVOROSSIYSK, KRASNODAR KRAI) – Reports have emerged of a suspected Ukrainian missile strike targeting the Novorossiysk naval base, the primary facility for the Black Sea Fleet of the Russian dictator, Vladimir Putin.

Video footage circulating on social media platforms, including Telegram and Twitter, shows a significant plume of thick, light coloured smoke rising from the heart of the military installation.

Military analysts and open source intelligence monitors suggest the visuals are consistent with a successful impact on naval infrastructure or a docked vessel rather than a surface to air missile launch or a defensive smoke screen.

The smoke appears to originate from a central sector of the port, potentially near the submarine pen or the berths designated for primary surface combatants.

While the specific target remains unconfirmed, the location of the plume aligns with areas used for mooring the Black Sea Fleet’s most capable assets. This development follows a documented drone campaign by Ukraine last week that reportedly damaged five warships at the same facility, including an Admiral Grigorovich class frigate.

Following the forced withdrawal of the fleet from occupied Sevastopol due to consistent Ukrainian pressure, Novorossiysk has become the final major operational hub for Russia maritime forces in the region. Observers speculate that Kyiv may have deployed Neptune or Flamingo missiles in this latest effort to exploit the proven vulnerabilities of the base.
