(ZAPORIZHZHIA AND KHERSON REGIONS) – Ukrainian Unmanned Systems Forces have successfully targeted four separate Russian self propelled air defence components during operations in occupied territories of the Zaporizhzhia and Kherson regions on the night of 6 March 2026. The strikes, which focused on long, medium, and short range systems, represent a coordinated effort to dismantle the Russian occupation’s aerial shield.
According to operational reports, the 9th “Kairos” Battalion of the 414th Separate Regiment, known as the “Birds of Magyar,” utilised Ukrainian manufactured FP 2 middle strike munitions equipped with 60 kilogramme warheads. These assets successfully hunted a Buk missile system in the occupied Kherson region and an S 300V medium range surface to air missile system in the occupied Zaporizhzhia region.
Simultaneously, pilots from the 1st Separate Centre of the Unmanned Systems Forces engaged two additional targets in occupied Zaporizhzhia. A Pantsir S1 anti aircraft gun and missile system, along with a Tor missile system, were neutralised using the 100 kilogramme warhead variant of the Ukrainian FP 2 middle strike drone.
The Unmanned Systems Forces have stated that the identification and destruction of various tiers of the enemy air defence network remains a primary operational priority. While specific procurement costs for these indigenous drones are not public, the destruction of such high value Russian assets represents a significant financial blow to the Kremlin. For context, a Pantsir S1 system is estimated to cost approximately 1.14 billion Ukrainian Hryvnia or 15 million US Dollars, while S 300 components can exceed 7.6 billion Ukrainian Hryvnia or 100 million US Dollars per battery. Real time tracking of these combat results remains available via the official Unmanned Systems Forces digital scoreboard.
