(POKROVSK, DONETSK OBLAST) – A Ukrainian battle commander has reported a visible decline in the efficacy of Russian offensive operations near Pokrovsk. Although the commander noted that Russian forces retain sufficient personnel to launch daily assaults, the intensity of these attacks has diminished significantly. Ukrainian defenders currently maintain control over the northern sector of the city and are actively conducting counter operations to repel the invaders.
While the Russian military continues its efforts to seize Pokrovsk, they have failed to establish full control over the area. Reports from the frontline suggest that logistical failures are severely impacting the physical condition of Russian troops. Intercepted communications reveal that soldiers are suffering from acute hunger and thirst, leading to rapid weight loss and physical exhaustion. These personnel described the situation as ravaging their frontline units.
The breakdown in Russian logistics is attributed to the systematic destruction of supply vehicles within occupied territories by Ukrainian forces. This interdiction has forced the Russian military to rely on horses and donkeys to transport ammunition, rations, and essential supplies to their positions.
Recent footage of a Russian soldier who defected highlights the humanitarian crisis within their ranks. The soldier, who had captured a wounded Ukrainian defender, was persuaded by his captive to surrender to the Ukrainian side. Observers noted that despite wearing at least four layers of clothing, the soldier was visibly shivering and appeared emaciated. Experts suggest that beneath the multiple jackets, such soldiers are reduced to skin and bones as they face starvation and extreme cold on the front lines.
