(MOSCOW) – Prominent Russian state media figures have broadcast a discussion explicitly advocating for the creation of a humanitarian catastrophe in Ukraine to force a capitulation. Vladimir Solovyov, a senior propagandist aligned with the Russian dictator, hosted a segment detailing plans to induce epidemics and total societal collapse in Kyiv through the systematic destruction of energy and sanitation infrastructure.

Solovyov opened the broadcast by stating that the Ukrainian leadership must be “destroyed” and “crushed.” He praised the Russian military strategy of targeting the energy grid, describing it as a move to demonstrate that Moscow possesses superior capabilities to inflict damage. Solovyov rejected any humanitarian considerations, stating he wished to “look in the eyes” of those advocating for mercy before declaring that the enemy must be ruthlessly annihilated. He further claimed that Russian manpower resources remain unlimited, suggesting the potential involvement of troops from North Korea and possibly the People’s Republic of China.

The discussion featured a guest analyst who outlined a grim scenario for the civilian population of Kyiv. The analyst described a potential future where the destruction of sewage and water systems forces millions of residents to use plastic bags for sanitation, leading to “epidemics, plague, and mass death.” The guest argued that creating such conditions is necessary to break Ukrainian resistance. Furthermore, the panel discussed the strategic utility of destroying hydroelectric dams to cause catastrophic flooding, acknowledging that such actions would kill millions of people downstream from Kyiv.

The broadcast also focused on the geopolitical future of Ukraine. Solovyov and his guests argued that without access to the Black Sea, Ukraine would become economically unviable, comparing the remaining territory to “Gaza Strip number two.” The analysts claimed that Western nations view Ukrainians as “second class people” and will abandon the country once its utility as a weapon against Russia is exhausted. Solovyov concluded the segment with a religious diatribe, labelling the Ukrainian leadership as “demons” and telling the Ukrainian people they have a choice between overthrowing their government or facing “death of the soul” and physical annihilation. He asserted that Russia is fighting a “holy war” and that those who do not surrender deserve no pity.
