The Embassy of the Republic of South Sudan in Kenya has initiated a business registration drive aimed at South Sudanese business owners and investors operating in Kenya. The Trade and Investment Section of the Embassy is leading this effort to bring businesses together on a unified platform for better coordination, support, and representation.

The registration campaign seeks to identify the sectors where South Sudanese citizens are active in Kenya, understand their specific challenges, and work with relevant authorities to develop practical solutions. Additionally, the Embassy aims to strengthen its collaboration with institutions like the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KNCCI) and foster connections between South Sudanese entrepreneurs and Kenyan companies, financial institutions, and investors.

The initiative will assist businesses in completing company registration and compliance procedures, and support their participation in trade exhibitions, investment forums, and expos. This step is seen as a way to integrate South Sudanese businesses more effectively into the Kenyan economic landscape.

A consultative meeting will be conducted by the Embassy for interested South Sudanese business owners and investors to address shared concerns, identify opportunities, and enhance community engagement. Businesses are urged to register by providing company details, a point of contact, contact information, and the business sector in which they operate to create a directory for tailored support.

To register, businesses can contact the Embassy’s Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade and Investment, Jacqueline N. Chole, via the following channels:

  • Phone: +254 721 319 860
  • WhatsApp: +254 721 319 860
  • Email: info@southsudanembassyke.org

The registration process is expected to enhance the Embassy’s ability to support the business community and promote the growth of South Sudanese enterprises in Kenya and beyond. This campaign is part of the Embassy’s broader economic diplomacy efforts in Nairobi, including discussions with Kenyan institutions to facilitate financing for South Sudanese-owned businesses and their participation in regional economic platforms.

Officials believe that this initiative will boost diaspora-led investments, strengthen trade relations between South Sudan and East African countries, and align with national economic priorities. The Embassy underscores the importance of timely and accurate registration and encourages all eligible businesspeople to participate in this initiative promptly.
