(JUBA) – President Salva Kiir Mayardit has appointed Moses Rou Ayii as the new Deputy Commissioner General of the South Sudan Revenue Authority (SSRA), replacing John Mading Bol. The announcement was made on Monday night through the South Sudan Broadcasting Corporation (SSBC).
Mr. Rou Ayii previously served as the President’s Private Secretary and Personal Assistant. He brings significant experience in public administration and executive coordination, which is expected to support the SSRA’s ongoing efforts to improve revenue collection and service delivery across South Sudan.
The SSRA emphasised that the appointment marks a new chapter for the Authority as it seeks to strengthen its operations, enhance taxpayer services, and increase compliance. Under the new leadership, the Authority plans to maintain momentum on its strategic priorities, including improving digital systems, expanding revenue mobilisation, and streamlining administrative processes.
Revenue collection in South Sudan remains a key priority for the government, particularly as the country seeks to fund development projects and public services while reducing reliance on foreign assistance and the oil sector. Effective leadership at the SSRA is seen as central to achieving these objectives and supporting broader economic stability.
