(JUBA) – The South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS), working with local authorities and security personnel, safely disposed of 2,000 cartons of spoiled chicken products at a designated dumping site in Rajaf Payam, Juba County, Central Equatoria State on 2 January 2026.

The consignment was referred from the SSNBS Nimule Border Station after inspection revealed that the refrigeration system had failed during transport. This failure caused spoilage, rendering the products unsafe for human consumption.

The disposal was carried out under strict supervision to ensure public safety and compliance with South Sudanese food standards. The SSNBS affirmed its commitment to protecting consumers and ensuring that only safe, quality products circulate within the South Sudanese market.
