Police authorities in Juba have apprehended three individuals believed to be involved in the assault on Major General Stephen Warikozi, the Director of Research and Planning at the Ministry of Interior. The incident occurred at his residence in Gudele 2 last month, where the general sustained injuries.
Major General James Monday Enoka, the Police Spokesperson, stated that the suspects were part of a group of six armed men who carried out the attack on the evening of July 3, 2025. During the assault, the general was shot in the left leg, and two other individuals present were also injured. The assailants reportedly stole money and other items before making their escape.
One of the suspects was fatally shot during the arrest operation and later succumbed to his injuries in hospital. General Enoka informed the media that three suspects have been apprehended, while efforts are ongoing to locate the remaining perpetrator who is still at large.
In response to the arrests, Major General Warikozi commended the Criminal Investigation Department for their swift actions and commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the public.
