Ukraine is stepping into a pivotal new role in the Middle East, with President Zelenskyy confirming that Kyiv has deployed interceptor drones and a specialist team to help defend U.S. bases in Jordan.
To speak about it, we were joined by William Dixon, who explained that Ukraine has pioneered a multi-layered defense model using cost-effective counter-drone technology that Western systems currently lack. He noted that Iran’s barrage of drones is “almost certainly a calculated measure to try and force the hands of the Israelis and the Americans.”
Dixon also emphasized that Ukraine’s expertise is world class and growing in demand globally. While explaining why Jordan, Dixon highlighted the country’s strategic importance, saying it is ‘a key center for keeping air traffic and air lanes open…which is why Ukraine and its advice is going where it’s most needed.
