(KYIV) – Ukrainian border guard forces from the Shkval Rapid Response Command have destroyed Russian military equipment and a supply depot during operations in the Kharkiv region, according to Ukraine’s State Border Guard Service.

Fighters from the Shkval unit of the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment, operating as part of Ukraine’s Defence Forces, continue to carry out combat missions in the region.

During a recent operation, border guards struck Russian equipment and logistical infrastructure used by occupying forces. The unit destroyed a vehicle, several quad bikes and a Russian supply depot.

Officials said Ukrainian border guards are closely monitoring Russian movements along the frontline and targeting enemy activity whenever it is detected.

According to the border service, Ukrainian units track any movement by Russian forces and act to prevent them from regrouping or establishing new positions in the area.

The Shkval rapid response command is composed of servicemen with previous combat experience gained during battles in Kyiv region, Kharkiv region, Luhansk region and Donetsk region earlier in the war.

The State Border Guard Service said the unit continues to perform combat missions as part of the wider Ukrainian Defence Forces effort to weaken Russian occupying troops.

Ukrainian officials also called on volunteers to join the 7th Carpathian Border Guard Detachment.

Recruitment information released by the service includes the application portal and contact numbers for potential candidates.
