(HULIAIPOLE, ZAPORIZHZHIA REGION) – Ukrainian border guard pilots from the “Phoenix” unit continue combat operations aimed at removing Russian forces from the Zaporizhzhia region, according to official statements released on 19 March 2026.
The unit reported that Russian forces are deploying a wide range of targets into the area. These include infantry, described by Ukrainian sources as expendable troops, as well as heavy armoured vehicles, tanks, military transport vehicles, quad bikes and motorcycles.
Ukrainian operators said they have focused on disrupting Russian logistics routes. These efforts are intended to weaken Russian positions by limiting supply and mobility, while increasing operational pressure on forward units.
The statement highlighted repeated strikes that have caused sustained losses to Russian forces. Ukrainian officials described these losses as significant and ongoing.
Particular emphasis was placed on the precision of drone operators. According to the report, Ukrainian pilots have been able to identify and strike targets accurately, including within residential areas, while limiting wider damage.
The operations form part of broader Ukrainian efforts to contest Russian control in southern Ukraine and degrade military capabilities along active front lines.
Footage released by the press service of the unit shows drones engaging enemy targets along key logistical routes.
