(MOROBO COUNTY) – Citizens of Morobo have received assurances from the government on efforts to restore stability in the county following a visit by SSPDF Major General John Lual on Tuesday. The visit aimed to strengthen security and foster trust between communities and security forces.
During the visit, General Lual met with traditional chiefs in the presence of Morobo County Commissioner Honourable Charles Data and Security Coordinator Moro Isaac. He emphasised the importance of civil–military dialogue to build confidence and stressed that the safety of civilians remains a top priority for the government.
The General highlighted ongoing plans to stabilise security in the county, which has faced challenges affecting daily life for residents. Commissioner Charles Data welcomed the visit, describing it as a long-awaited intervention. He noted that the people of Morobo have been seeking increased government attention to security matters and expressed hope that the assurances would result in lasting peace.
Security Coordinator Moro Isaac emphasised the need for continuous collaboration between local leadership and security forces to protect citizens and help communities resume normal life. Chiefs from across the county pledged their support for government initiatives, stressing that peace and stability are crucial for the development of Morobo.
