(JUBA) – South Sudan’s pioneer mobile money provider, mGURUSH, continues to strengthen its role in driving financial inclusion across the country. The company’s leadership recently engaged the public through interviews and discussions on Radio Miraya 101 FM, highlighting the importance of digital payments in reducing reliance on cash and expanding access to financial services nationwide.
Led by Chief of Operations Hon. Mou Ambrose Thiik and Head of Marketing Mr. Bulis Martin, the mGURUSH team joined stakeholders in the fintech sector to discuss the basic processes of creating accounts, the growing uptake of mobile money services, market share, and challenges in reaching remote areas. The team assured listeners that mobile money is recognised as legal tender in South Sudan, following guidance from the Bank of South Sudan.
The company emphasised that mobile money plays a key role in cutting down the large volumes of physical cash in circulation while making transactions safer and more convenient. In a recent interview, Ms Bruna Siricio Iro, Managing Director of Ivory Bank and Chairperson of the Bankers Association of South Sudan, commended mGURUSH for pioneering mobile money in the country. She noted that customers, including herself, increasingly rely on the service to send money instantly to their families and communities.
mGURUSH, developed by Trinity Technologies Limited (TTL) in partnership with Zain, operates under licences granted by the Bank of South Sudan and the National Communication Authority.
