(JUBA) – The National Examination Council (NEC) has announced that it will hold its 21st Ordinary Council meeting on Wednesday, 20 August 2025, with the long awaited release of the Senior Four examination results expected in the coming weeks.
In a public statement issued earlier this month, NEC invited all media houses to attend the meeting, which is scheduled to begin at 8:30 am in Juba. The gathering is expected to discuss the delayed results and ongoing reforms in the national examination process.
On 5 August 2025, the Minister of General Education, Dr Kuyok Abol Kuyok, confirmed that the Ministry had secured the required funding to complete the examination process. He said the funding was made possible through cooperation with the Ministry of Finance and the Bank of South Sudan.
Dr Kuyok, in a briefing to Vice President Josephine Lagu Yanga, who also chairs the Service Cluster, explained that financial resources had been released, enabling NEC to complete the pending processes. He reassured the public that the Senior Four results would be released within two weeks.
The Minister apologised for the delay, acknowledging the frustration experienced by students, parents, and schools across the country. He said steps were now being taken to ensure such setbacks do not happen in future.
Dr Kuyok also revealed that the government had approved a revised fee structure for examination registration. This move is expected to improve NEC’s ability to manage examinations more efficiently.
