(NIMULE) – Six Trucks Rejected for Failing South Sudan Quality Standards.
The South Sudan National Bureau of Standards (SSNBS) at Nimule has rejected six consignments between 26 November and 8 December 2025, after they failed to meet the country’s national quality standards.
The shipments included four trucks of maize grains and two trucks of maize flour. The rejected goods were deemed unsafe or below required quality levels, and therefore were not allowed entry into the South Sudanese market.
SSNBS officials reiterated their commitment to protecting consumers by ensuring that only safe and quality products reach local businesses and households. The authority also urged the public to remain vigilant and report any suspected substandard or smuggled goods.
Maize remains a staple food in South Sudan, and ensuring its safety is crucial for both public health and the stability of the local food market.
