( KYIV ) – Ukrainian Special Operations Forces have carried out a series of deep strike attacks against Russian military facilities in occupied territories, destroying a radar system in Sevastopol and an ammunition depot in the Donetsk region, according to Ukrainian officials.
The strikes were conducted by Middle Strike units of Ukraine’s Special Operations Forces. The attacks targeted several Russian military sites, including an arsenal in occupied Donetsk region, a radar station in occupied Sevastopol in Crimea, a storage facility for reconnaissance drones, and a logistics depot in the Zaporizhzhia region.
According to the report, a rocket and artillery weapons depot in the settlement of Shyroka Balka in Donetsk region was destroyed. Ukrainian officials said the strike caused continuing detonations of stored ammunition.
In Sevastopol, the operation destroyed a 64N6E radar station and its antenna. The radar served as a key detection system for Russian S 300 and S 400 air defence missile complexes.
Ukrainian forces also struck a drone storage facility in Novozlatopil and a logistics and supply warehouse in Marianivka in the Zaporizhzhia region.
The Middle Strike operations involve medium range attacks conducted deep inside enemy territory, sometimes reaching targets several hundred kilometres away.
Officials said underground resistance groups operating in territories occupied by Russian forces assisted in identifying and enabling strikes against military targets.
Ukrainian military authorities said the destruction of ammunition depots, air defence components and logistics facilities significantly weakens the offensive and defensive capabilities of Russian forces.
The Special Operations Forces said they will continue to carry out asymmetric actions aimed at strategically weakening Russian military operations against Ukraine.
