(JUBA) – Juba Electricity Distribution Company Limited has announced that all its service centres will remain operational during the Christmas and New Year holiday period, a move aimed at supporting households and businesses that rely on continuous electricity services in the capital.

In a customer notice issued on 24 December 2025, the company said its offices will be open on 24, 25, 26 and 28 December 2025, as well as on 1 January 2026. JEDCO said the decision reflects its commitment to service continuity during a period when commercial activity and household demand typically increase.

Under the modified holiday schedule, service centres in Gudele, Munuki, Juba Town and Gumbo Shirkat will operate from nine in the morning to four in the afternoon. The Nimra Talata service centre and the company head office will operate for extended hours from nine in the morning to eight in the evening, providing additional access for customers who may need support later in the day.

JEDCO also confirmed that Saturday, 27 December 2025, will be treated as a normal working day across all its service centres. This ensures that customers are not affected by reduced access during the peak holiday period.

The company said its toll free customer line 319 and the emergency response team will remain available around the clock throughout the holidays. This includes attending to fault reports, urgent technical issues and other emergency cases related to electricity distribution in Juba.

Business operators in the city often depend on uninterrupted electricity services during the festive season, when trading hours are extended and consumer demand increases. Analysts say JEDCO’s decision to maintain operations is likely to support small and medium sized enterprises, particularly in retail, hospitality and service sectors that see higher activity at the end of the year.

JEDCO operates six service centres across Juba County and is the main electricity distribution company serving the capital. The firm said it values the continued support of its customers and remains focused on maintaining reliable service delivery during public holidays and beyond.
