(JUBA) – Renovation works at Juba International Airport are currently underway, with the South Sudan Civil Aviation Authority (SSCAA) spearheading the project to enhance safety, efficiency and overall passenger experience.

According SSCAA, the renovation works aim to modernise South Sudan’s main international gateway and bring facilities closer to international standards. The project includes improvements to terminals, runways and support infrastructure, aimed at accommodating growing passenger and cargo traffic.

Airport officials said the renovations will reduce delays, improve passenger comfort, and ensure that operational procedures meet international safety requirements. The work is also expected to support humanitarian, commercial and government flights, which rely heavily on Juba International Airport.

Exact costs have not been disclosed.
