(JUBA) – South Sudan Football Federation (SSFA) presidential candidate Anna Nyakuet Stephen has alleged that she was unfairly removed from the upcoming federation elections, which are scheduled to take place on 15 August 2025.

Nyakuet claims that her legitimate endorsement documents were replaced with forged papers submitted in her name by another aspirant. She alleges that the SSFA Electoral Committee accepted the falsified documents without verifying their authenticity, effectively blocking her from standing in the election.

She believes the move was deliberate and intended to undermine her campaign. According to Nyakuet, the alleged document swap was a calculated act by rivals who feared her growing support among football stakeholders across the country.

“I have worked hard to present my candidacy in line with the rules. What has been done is not just an attack on me but on fair competition in South Sudan football,” she said in a statement.

Nyakuet has called for an immediate and thorough investigation into the matter, urging both the SSFA leadership and relevant national authorities to identify and prosecute those responsible. She stressed that the integrity of the election process depends on transparency and accountability.

The SSFA Electoral Committee has not yet issued any public response to the allegations.
